I'm a product designer with nine years on B2B and B2C products in fintech, logistics and energy. I have led a team of five designers, and I have been the only designer on a product.
Most recently I designed the AI features of a platform for investors in private capital markets, and the design system that keeps them consistent. I prototype in code; this past year I worked mostly in Claude Design and Claude Code.
Résumé
How I work
I work on a product from the first research to the release, and I stay close to engineering while it is built.
AI tools now generate screens and components quickly. The hard part is keeping what they make consistent with the product. So a large part of my work is writing the rules a screen must follow into the design system, such as which component to use and which colours and spacing are allowed. I then check new screens against those rules, whether a person or an AI tool made them.
Since 2021 I have worked remotely with teams spread across countries and time zones. That work depends on writing: I document decisions so that people who were not in the conversation can act on them without a meeting. I work in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
End to end
I hand engineering the research, the flows and the interaction and motion specs together, so the engineer building a screen can see why it was designed that way.
Every state
I design every state a user can meet, including loading, errors and an AI answer that stops halfway, and I test them with users when the project allows it.

A system in code
I built the AI platform's design system with a developer. It is written in code, using Claude Design, and we keep it up to date as the product grows.

Willing to be wrong
When research contradicts the plan, I follow the research. At Loadsmart the team had designed a platform for matching trucks with loads. In a test, six people from fleet teams compared it with the plain match email they already received. The staff who handle the loads day to day chose the email; only managers chose the platform. We improved the email first and kept the platform on the roadmap for managers.
Background
Senior Product Designer
2023 to presentAn AI platform in private capital markets, connecting investors (LPs) with the fund managers they invest in (GPs). I reorganised the team's Figma files, defined the interface, then planned and built the design system in code. I designed the platform's AI features, and ran discovery, research and prototypes to find a better market fit.
Senior Product Designer
2021 to 2023A new product, sponsored by The Home Depot, that helps companies with their own trucks find paid loads for trucks that would otherwise drive back empty. I ran qualitative and quantitative research and brought the findings into product strategy with the PM and the VP of Product. The findings led the team to improve the existing match email first, and the redesigned email raised the response rate by 250%.
Design Lead
2019 to 2021Three roles between 2019 and 2021 (consultant, senior designer, then design lead) in three business areas of the bank. I was the first designer on BTG+, its digital bank. I then led five designers on a platform for the bank's advisors, used across four business verticals.
Consultant & in-house
2010 to 2019Before 2019 I worked as a consultant and in-house, mostly as the only designer. I designed tools for electricity auctions, credit-loan tools for a bank whose legacy interface could not be changed, a digital investment platform and a smart-lock app. Before that, I spent six years as a graphic designer and art director.
